Internationally acclaimed violinist Andrej Kurti was born in Belgrade, Serbia, where he began his violin carrier in the studio of Professor Djula Tesenji. He continued his studies in Moscow “Tchaikovsky” Conservatory in studios of professors Levon Ambartsumian and Zorya Schikmurzaeva.

Kurti finished his graduate studies in the University of Georgia, where he received doctorate degree in violin performance.

He was a recipient of five first prizes in competitions in Yugoslavia, four first prizes in competitions in Georgia and Florida, and a finalist of the MTNA (Music Teacher National Association) Competition in 1998.

In 2000, Kurti became a recording artist for classical label Blue Griffin Recordings, for which he later recorded Six Sonatas for Violin Solo by Eugene Ysaÿe, op.27.  “Classics Today” and “American Record Guide” wrote “…his near-perfect intonation, assured technique (check out the Third Sonata’s climactic double stops), and intelligent shaping of polyphony…” “Kurti is an excellent violinist and musician, very musical and stylish, and these are some of the better performances of these sonatas that I have heard…you couldn’t go wrong if you had this disc as your only recording of these works”.

In 2004, Kurti became a professor of violin at Northwestern State University of Louisiana.He appeared as a soloist with many symphony orchestras in the United States, Serbia, Montenegro, Italy, Greece, and Russia. He also appeared as a chamber performer in Spain, France, Latvia, Canada, and South Korea.

In non classical music world Kurti performed and arranged on more than forty albums of popular and modern music, which he recorded for many different music labels in the United States.

Kurti has been invited to several international music festivals where he most often performed music written for solo violin. In 2015  Kurti performed Ysaÿe’s op.27 in Road to Carnegie nation-wide recital series, culminating with his Carnegie Hall debut. Most recently, Kurti has remained a very active concert violinst, where, besides solo and chamber recitals, he appears as a soloist with chamber orchestras in United States and aboard, performing masterworks by Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Williams and Sarasate.


Međunarodno priznati violinista Andrej Kurti rođen je u Beogradu, gde je i započeo muzičku karijeru u klasi profesora Ðule Tešenjija. Školovanje nastavlja na konzervatorijumu “P. I. Čajkovski” u Moskvi, odsek za violinu, u klasi profesora Levona Ambarcumjana i Zorje Šihmurzajeve.

Postdiplomske studije završava u SAD-u, na univerzitetu u Džordžiji, gde i doktorira.

Dobitnik je pet prvih nagrada na takmičenjima u SFRJ, četiri prve nagrade na takmičenjima u Džordžiji i Floridi, a bio je i finalista državnog takmičenja gudača SAD-a 1998. godine.

2000. godine postaje”recording artist” za producentsku kuću “Blue Griffin Recordings”, za koju je kasnije snimio i šest sonata za solo violinu Eugene Ysaÿe-a, op.27. “Classics Today” i “American Record Guide” pišu: “…njegova gotovo savršena intonacija, sigurna tehnika (poslušajte vrsne dvohvate u Trećoj sonati) i inteligentno oblikovanje polifonije…” “Kurti je izvanredan violinista i muzičar, veoma muzikalan i visokog stila, i ovo je jedno od boljih izvođenja ovih sonata koje sam ja čuo… nećete pogrešiti ako ovaj CD bude vaš jedini snimak izvođenja ovoga dela“.

Od 2004. godine predaje violinu na državnom univerzitetu u Luizijani. Kao solista nastupa sa mnogim američkim simfonijskim orkestrima, a van Sjedinjenih Država nastupao je kao solista u Srbiji, Crnoj Gori, Italiji, Grčkoj i Rusiji. Kao izvođač kamerne muzike nastupao je u Španiji, Francuskoj, Latviji, Kanadi i Južnoj Koreji.

Osim klasične muzike, pojavljuje se kao izvođač ili aranžer na četrdesetak albuma popularne i moderne muzike, snimljenih za američke diskografske kuće.

Poslednjih godina Kurti je nastupao na mnogim internacionalnim muzičkim festivalima, gde je najčešće izvodio dela napisana za solo violinu. U septembru 2015. višemesečnu turneju “Road to Carnegie” održanu širom zemlje,  završio je debijem u Karnegi holu, gde je izveo Šest sonata Eugene Ysaÿe op.27. U poslednje vreme, i dalje veoma aktivan koncertni violinista, pored solo i kamernih koncerata, svira i kao solista s kamernim i simfonijskim orkestrima u Sjedinjenim Državama i u inostranstvu, izvodeći dela Čajkovskog, Mocarta, Viliamsa i Sarasate.
